Study of Uranium Concentration in Soil Samples Taken From Selected Sites in the Southern of Amara Governorate Using Icp/ms

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: In this study, "25 "samples of topsoil were evaluated using ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry). The samples were collected from different areas in the southern portion of Amara Governorate. The researchers were unaware of how many of these samples had previously been analyzed.Between 0.52 ppm (Sayed Ahmed Alrifai5) and 1.69 ppm "Sayed Ahmed Alrifai2", uranium has been found in soil. The findings are shared and contrasted with those of an additional investigation.Overburden and refuse, not mineable deposits, are the likely sources of the soil samples that had uranium concentrations below "100 ppm" .This article describes and evaluates the uranium content in the southern Amara governorates.Furthermore, uranium levels were below the detection threshold in all 25 exposed ground samples. The findings showed that the tested soil samples had uranium contents below the 11.7 ppm than the levels allowed by the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation "UNSCEAR" in 1993.
