Evaluation of the Productive Qualities of Geese During Interbreeding

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article provides data on the research and evaluation of the productive qualities of geese of large gray and Toulouse breeds in mongrel and interbreeding. Our goal was to obtain high productive performance of hybrids when crossing geese of large gray and Toulouse breeds. The study touched upon such productive qualities as egg production, egg production intensity, live weight of the parent flock, feed conversion per unit of production, as well as the weight of eggs obtained during incubation. In the course of the work, it was determined that the experimental group has the highest egg productivity when mating large gray geese, followed by hybrids when crossing Toulouse geese and large gray geese. In terms of live weight and egg weight, geese of the Toulouse breed and hybrids turned out to be highly productive when crossing large gray gander and goose of the Toulouse breed. The breeding work carried out showed a good result, the hybrids obtained met the stated requirements and fulfilled the goals and objectives of the research work. In conclusion, we recommend using the Toulouse breed to carry out breeding and breeding work to increase the live weight of large gray geese.
