Abstract: Socio-economic development and quality of life are complementary concepts. The purpose of the article is to consider the role of the Siberian Federal District in the country's economy, in ensuring the quality of life of the population and its impact on the development of the regions of the district. The following methods were used in the study: normative analysis (the study of the legal regulation of issues of socio-economic development and its impact on the quality of life), analysis and synthesis, grouping, generalization, comparison, analysis of statistical data. The information base of the study was the official data of Rosstat, the rating agency Rating, and regulatory documents of the Government of the Russian Federation. The study identifies problematic issues in ensuring the quality of life of the population, in particular, the demographic situation, etc., which are addressed by the Strategy of Socio–economic Development of the Siberian Federal District.
