Abstract: A newly discovered species of genus Filago found in Jammu's lowlands is described and illustrated. The new species F. jammuensis differs significantly from its near relative F. pyramidata in that the plants are shorter in height, have an unbranched stem, and leafy clusters surrounding the capitulum. The phyllaries are glabrous, 3–4‐seriate, hyaline, with the outer middle ones sharply pointed, and the inner ones acute. Its achenes are tiny, dorsally compressed, and somewhat papillate. The new species is compared with the morphologically close Filago pyramidata.
