Abstract: A sort of an introduction is made that views vocative as a linguistic phenomenon and how it is constructed.There is reference to vocative in English, in addition to the form of that linguistic device, i.e., how vocative is classified in English.On the other hand, there is an indication to the structural style adopted as far as Arabic is concerned.It is mentioned that there is a specific type of vocative that serves the current study.Moreover, the study shows how vocative is regarded as a finite structure.The study has gone over vocative function in Arabic.Furthermore, there is tendency to approach the unique trend in the languages concerned.
