Challenges in laryngeal mask ventilation: Case of a vocal cord polyp

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Airway obstruction during the use of Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) devices is not uncommon. The most frequent causes are typically related to a superficial plane of anesthesia or misposition of the LMA. However, uncommon causes such as vocal fold polyps must also be considered, as they can significantly impact ventilation and complicate airway management.
