Analysis of Foreign Scientific Research in the Field of Psychological Safety of the Professional Environment: Using the Example of the Army and the Police

Abstract: The article presents an analysis of issues that are directly related: firstly, to the general understanding of psychological safety and the directly related factor of maintaining «team spirit» in any team; secondly, to the integral perception of the problematic field of psychological safety in the evaluative judgments of representatives of foreign scientific thought; thirdly, to the substantiation of theoretical and methodological provisions in terms of identifying the features of psychological safety of the professional environment in the army and police. According to the authors, the considered range of issues allows for a more clear approach to an expanded analysis of the subject of psychological safety, which is of fundamental importance for the highest quality achievement of the tasks of national importance facing each military and/or service team of police officers, on the effective solution of which depends the state of the defense capability of the state and the maintenance of the required level of law and order in society. The practical and scientific significance of the identified ways to achieve the expected state of teamwork of each member of the team is noted, based on their awareness of their group role, on the quality of the implementation of which the success of the common cause depends. The emphasis is placed on the importance of ensuring the leadership positions of the manager, whose mission involves taking appropriate efforts to mobilize his subordinates to the fullest disclosure of their creative and psychological potential in the interests of the service. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the problem of psychological safety and take into account the demand for its practical resolution in modern conditions, in which the special role of the army and the police in ensuring the safe existence of the state and its further sustainable development is manifested. The above is the novelty of the study. The methodological basis of the study was a systems approach. This paper presents theoretical information regarding conceptual approaches to maintaining acceptable psychological safety for the professional environment of the army and police. The scope of application of the results is the theoretical perception of the problem of psychological safety and the practical implementation of the most acceptable provisions and conclusions considered in this work and aimed at achieving a new quality of work of teams of military personnel and police.
