Abstract: In different countries, the number of people who want to do good is increasing, they are called volunteers or volunteers. Volunteers take part in various socially significant and public events free of charge. Their activities consist of gratuitous assistance, dissemination of important information, preparation and holding of various public and socially significant events. The five most popular areas of volunteerism in Russia are: social, environmental, event, cultural, and military-patriotic. At the same time, an increasing number of people of different ages, students, youth and adult Russians, are involved. Volunteering gives people the opportunity to expand their circle of acquaintances, develop communication skills, evaluate their potential in solving various tasks, and help others. In recent years, there has been a tendency to spread volunteerism in various spheres of society. 62 volunteers participated in the study, of which 42 were girls and 20 were men aged 18 to 24. We determined which types of personality orientation predominate among the volunteers. It is noted that the length of service of volunteers plays a role in changing the type of orientation of the volunteers' personality towards volunteerism, and civic-oriented and object-oriented types prevail.
