Abstract: This issue features a case report by Lahuerta et al. (2025) describing the use of a long-term indwelling catheter to resolve stenosis of the parotid salivary duct following surgical removal of a sialolith and treatment of recurrent episodes of septic sialadenitis in a 19-year-old Warmblood gelding.This case report highlights some interesting topics, including the diagnostic challenges when evaluating these types of cases, which will be reviewed in this commentary.
