Study on the Mechanical Properties of CNTs/SiO₂ Composite Modified Cement based Composites

Abstract: This paper studies the hybrid application of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and nano-SiO₂ sol in cement-based composites. Using water-bath ultrasonic dispersion technology, CNTs/SiO₂ composite fillers were prepared to enhance cement composites. The results show that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can be uniformly dispersed in cement-based composites with nano-SiO₂ sol as the dispersion medium. When the contents of SiO₂ sol and CNTs are 1.50wt.% and 0.15wt.% respectively, the mechanical properties of cement-based composites are improved most significantly.
