Incidencia de la inflación sobre las tasas pasivas en una institución de microfinanzas de la ciudad de Trujillo, periodo 2022

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The research analyzes the relationship between inflation and deposit interest rates in a microfinance institution in Trujillo during 2022. Using a non-experimental, longitudinal, and correlational design, it was observed that inflation exhibited an upward trend, peaking in June (8.81%). Simultaneously, interest rates for term deposits of 181 to 360 days also increased, with July marking the highest rates. The results demonstrate a positive correlation between these variables, confirming the hypothesis that inflation directly impacts deposit rates. A linear regression model established the equation, indicating that low inflation levels reduce the incentive to save, negatively affecting deposit rates. The study highlights the role of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru in setting inflation targets (1-3%) to anchor economic expectations. Additionally, it underscores how inflation impacts the financial system's ability to offer competitive rates, essential for channeling savings into productive investments. The research concludes that inflation significantly influences saving decisions and the design of monetary policies.
