Children's Independence Through Habituation of Washing in PAUD Cerdas Terpadu Sukorejo Kendal

Abstract: This research examines the process of cultivating early childhood independence at PAUD Cerdas Terpadu Sukorejo Kendal. The main focus of this research is how this institution implements an approach to help early childhood develop independence, particularly through washing practices. The research was conducted descriptively and qualitatively, and data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that PAUD Cerdas Terpadu Sukorejo Kendal successfully uses various strategies to instill children's independence. These strategies proved to be effective in instilling these characters. The strategies include providing real examples and involving children in daily activities that require independence. If washing activities are taught regularly, children will better understand the importance of maintaining cleanliness and responsibility. Limited facilities and support from parents are problems faced, but these can be overcome with a more integrative and participatory approach, namely the habituation of washing done at home.
