Experimental study on the performance of vibration isolation modules for optical fiber hydrophone towed array

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Three types of low-stiffness vibration isolation modules are proposed for optical fiber hydrophone towed array in this paper, and the vibration response is tested under different pre-tension and frequency to evaluate the vibration isolation performance of three vibration isolation modules on the calibration testing system. The results show that the vibration reduction amount of the single-rope vibration isolation module decreases with the pre-tension increases, but the bent-rope vibration isolation module increases with the pre-tension increases, and the double-rope vibration isolation module changes very little. The higher the working frequency, the better the vibration reduction effect. To verify the actual performance of three types of vibration isolation modules for optical fiber hydrophone towed array, the towing noise is tested at different speeds on the lake. The results show that the single-rope vibration isolation module has a 3dB@100Hz lower towing noise at the speed of 3m/s, and the double-rope vibration isolation module has a 4dB@100Hz lower towing noise at the speed of 6m/s. In practical application, the advantages and disadvantages of the three vibration isolation modules can be used in different occasions to give full play to their respective performance advantages.
