Abstract: The [S] is a crucial factor affecting the quality of pipeline steel. To diminish the anti-HIV performance, the [S] content ought to be controlled beneath 200 ppm. PanSteel Extracting Vanadium and Steelmaking Plant utilizes [S] content in molten iron ranging from 0.06 to 0.12% for steel production, which poses difficulties in the manufacturing of low-sulfur steel. This paper examines the entire process from hot molten pretreatment to RH. The composition of the CaO-SiO2- Al2O3-MgO slag system is guaranteed by factstage softage accumulation. To transform MnS, the Ca treatment is employed. Based on the abovementioned measures, PanSteel has conducted several industrial tests, and steel with a sulfur mass fraction of 0.002% can be produced.
