Abstract: Mass media is a tool in mass communication activities that can be used to spread messages en masse and quickly to a wide and heterogeneous community. This mass media has so much power that it can change the habits and mindset of a society. New media includes a variety of platforms, including social media, blogs, podcasts, streaming services, and more, each presenting different advantages and disadvantages. Social media plays an important role in people's lives, especially popular ones such as Instagram, X(Twitter), and TikTok. Many businesses utilize social media to advertise their products with the creative ways of influencers. This, of course, can lead to new problems of gender bias and injustice for women. This article aims to reveal and criticize how patriarchal ideology affects the representation of women's bodies on social media, especially the Instagram account @goodponselangels. Patriarchal ideology is a system that considers men to govern women. Patriarchy is born from cultural construction and is a social system that positions men as the party that dominates, oppresses and exploits women.
