Research on virtual machine optimization migration algorithm for shipboard Common Computing Environment

Abstract: As the public infrastructure of naval vessels, the common computing environment consists of numerous computing and storage servers with high power consumption. The naval platform has strict requirements for equipment installation space and energy consumption, and the energy consumption of the common computing environment needs to be optimized. This paper proposes a host load state determination strategy based on adaptive threshold and a virtual machine placement strategy based on multidimensional resource balancing. Based on this, a virtual machine optimization migration algorithm for ship common computing environment (VMOCCE) is proposed, and the effectiveness of VMOCCE algorithm in reducing energy consumption is verified through simulation experiments. VMMEO algorithm can better achieve server load balancing.
