AeroBot: An Autonomous AI Robot For Navigation and Convenience in Philippine International Airports

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Airports face persistent challenges in enhancing passenger experiences, particularly in navigation and convenience. This study, AeroBot: An Autonomous Artificial Intelligence Robot that Aids with Navigation and Improves Passenger Convenience in Philippine International Airports highlights the transformative potential of AI-powered robots in addressing these issues. Guided by key questions on navigation, accessibility, and cultural factors, this research utilized a mixed-method approach, combining surveys and interviews with aviation experts and travelers. Findings reveal AeroBot’s potential to revolutionize airport experiences by prioritizing accessibility, streamlining processes, and fostering inclusivity. Features like real-time navigation, touchscreens, advanced voice recognition, and multilingual support empower passengers to navigate airports independently and confidently, significantly benefiting impaired passengers, senior citizens, and first-time travelers. Furthermore, AeroBot reduces stress, enhances convenience, and promotes independence, contributing to higher passenger satisfaction. Addressing cultural and technological barriers ensures a seamless experience for diverse travelers, including non-tech-savvy individuals and those facing language challenges. This inclusive approach underscores the role of AI in creating efficient, passenger-friendly airport environments. Recommendations emphasize tailoring AeroBot’s functionalities to demographic needs, leveraging robotics to reduce congestion, and fostering a sense of support and empowerment among travelers. Ultimately, this study demonstrates AeroBot’s capacity to transform airports into inclusive hubs where no passenger is left behind
