Abstract: Concerning an Assemblage of Goods Seized by Judicial Authorities during the “Dacian Gold” Investigation: From Corpus Delicti to Museum Collection This study revisits an assemblage of coins confiscated by authorities during the investigation of thefts from archaeological sites, partially published in scientific literature. Based on judicial archives, it provides a comprehensive history, supplemented by the analysis of 141 artifacts, including 139 coin issues, a Bronze Age axe head, and an ethnographic spear from the Sudan region of Africa. The study highlights aspects of the peak period of criminality in the field of cultural heritage and demonstrates the legal status of goods transferred to museum institutions by judicial authorities.
