Abstract: Written during my study abroad in Florence, I wrote this piece while I was actively denying my falling into love. As a stubborn cynic, I refused to accept that the man I had met on my solo trip abroad was becoming more and more significant in my life. I imagined that these gross, gushy feelings that were developing were a physical infliction that I couldn't escape. My writing professor, upon editing, described this piece as a "Cronenberg Love Story," which I feel perfectly sums up the semi-body horror blended with a sweet love story.
