Abstract: Neutral sp2–sp3 diboranes are characterized by a polarized BB single bond between two electronically and structurally distinct boryl groups, featuring one sp2‐hybridized (three‐coordinate) boron center and one sp3‐hybridized (four‐coordinate) boron center with a neutral Lewis base ligand. Their unique structures and properties have attracted growing research interest, particularly in exploring their reactivities and applications in CB bond formation reactions. This review summarizes recent advancements in the chemistry of neutral sp2–sp3 diboranes, emphasizing their syntheses, structural features, reactivities, and emerging applications as diboron reagents in organic synthesis.
