Abstract: The Fashion Industry in Indonesia is one of the attractive industrial sectors for the creative economy sub-sector. According to Badan Pusat Statistik, the GDP at constant prices of the textile and apparel industry amounted to 34.58 Trillion in the second quarter of 2020. However, clothing sales in physical stores have decreased due to online sales. In addition, in physical store sales, changing rooms are limited or even non-existent, causing long queues, trying on clothes directly in a place that makes it unhygienic and there are restrictions on the number of trying on clothes to be an obstacle in buying clothes directly. Thus, it is necessary to design a clothing measuring device to determine the size of the clothes to be purchased and reduce the queuing time that can occur when trying on clothes. This research aims to design a tool to help problems that occur in physical stores in traditional markets and convenience stores. The design of this tool uses Arduino-based automation technology to reduce direct contact with goods. The design of the clothes measuring device will begin with the identification of needs until the evaluation of the design of the clothes measuring device. From the research results, there are 7 categories of consumer needs where these needs include comfort, measurement accuracy, interactive, sturdiness, portable, features and power sources. From these results, a prototype was designed using Arduino, ultrasonic sensor and LCD display. Testing for the tool will use usability testing. Factors considered from the research are measurement accuracy performance, satisfaction, and learnability. The usability testing method used is SUS (System Usability Scale). From the results of the study it was found that the measurement accuracy performance value was 75.76% and the usability testing score was obtained 68.
