Abstract: At present, the ideological and political education in colleges and universities is facing brand-new challenges, and its high-quality development has become a core issue that needs to be deepened in the field of education. Especially under the influence of digital and information transformation, it is urgent to re-examine and construct the theoretical and practical framework of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. In this regard, this paper will analyze the teaching status of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities, and put forward a set of virtual simulation teaching mode of ideological and political theory based on VR technology in order to provide new ideas and methods for the teaching reform of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities. Practice has proved that the integrated virtual reality (VR) teaching scene based on Unity3D virtual engine, combined with three-dimensional modeling technology and dynamic visual interaction technology can fully simulate the complex information state of the real world, create an immersive and experiential virtual simulation teaching environment for ideological and political theory courses, thus enhancing students' learning interest and participation, and providing solid technical support for cultivating college students in the new era with profound theoretical literacy and strong practical awareness.
