Abstract: Dear Editor, A very interesting article exploring an area which is often overlooked or pushed under the carpet. To be fair, we are not formally trained to manage our EQ or even think about it during our UG and PG days. Most of what we gain, we learn from our teachers and mentors. Ethics is always something which everyone agrees as very important but seldom practised. Most importantly what is ethical and acceptable is a big grey area of varying shades, in most discussions. As rightly mentioned in the article, these two can influence a good many of the interactions in our practice, whether with colleagues or patients. A novel approach of setting standards of ethical practice and behaviour can be implemented and training programmes and feedback mechanisms are very good ideas. Incentivising such behaviours are also a welcome idea. How? There should be a space for open deliberations on the topic of ethical practice in professional organisations, CME, etc. Importance of teamwork and interprofessional work standards should be defined and established at medical and allied health levels Implementing subjects on EQ and ethical behaviour at UG levels Each organisation can have a body to which grievances regarding unethical practices could be notified by the public. Such mechanisms can function at institutional levels too.
