Abstract: Introduction. This work reflects the results of review Y.L. Burnosova's monograph “Theoretical foundations and practice of applying of rule the immediacy in the consideration of criminal cases in the court of first instance” (Moscow, Yurlitinform Publ., 2023). Results. The relevance, theoretical and practical significance of the study are stated. The author's attention is focused on the problematic aspects of this area: the essence and significance of the immediacy of the trial; the specifics of the study of personal and substantive evidence in court; the specifics of the implementation of this general condition of the trial in simplified proceedings, etc. The formulated conclusions are reasoned, in connection with which the review highly evaluates the monograph.
