Abstract: Cemil Meriç is considered one of the greatest sociologists and intellectuals in Turkish literature and has an important position among them as a well as in the intellectual creativity in Turkey during the twentieth century.He was born on 12 December 1916 in Hatai Province on the borders with Syria.In addition to his works that were abut twelve and several translations, he was an intellectual person and ideal scientist who shed light on the history of Turkish intellectual scene.He died in Istanbul on 13 of June 1987.He was buried in Karaca Ahmed cemetery, one of the famous cemeteries in boundaries of Istanbul.His novel "The Light Comes from the East" is an intellectual and scientific novel that was first published in Istanbul in 1984.After his death, his son Mahmoud Ali Meriç prepared it for publication.Mahmoud is also a writer like his father.Meriç's novel received a good acceptance by readers as well as their respect.It is written in 280 pages, the novel consists of a wide group of subjects that include encyclopedias, universal doctrines, the holy book, Hebrew literature, and translation.The literary production of the great writer is basically a group of novels that include an intellectual Atlas written on an intellectual basis with information about several local and foreign sources."The Light Comes from the East" is one of the important works by the great writer Cemil Meriç.It is an excellent work written to spread awareness among Turkish people.The word awareness comes from Arabic origin which meets the Turkish word in its accurate concept of being aware of something.Awareness is the effort paid to identify a goal against ignorance and work to achieve this goal.Human beings in their nature is subject to sloth and laziness which makes people feel that their life is empty from one time to another.The only thing that saves such a person is to be close to the aware movement following a strong basis and seek to achieve it.Drawing the goal, going direct toward it, and seeking to achieve it is considered part of the requirements of awareness.This means one must accept the heavy burdens and bear them in addition to accept all the sufferings and difficulties of life before hand and spend the whole in following this case.It also means to stay away from
