Management of Coronary Artery Disease in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Aortic stenosis (AS) is a progressive condition characterized by the narrowing of the aortic valve and often coexists with coronary artery disease (CAD) due to overlapping risk factors such as aging, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. In patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), addressing obstructive coronary lesions is crucial for preventing adverse cardiac events, including myocardial infarction and heart failure. However, the optimal strategy for managing CAD in patients undergoing TAVR remains debated, with various strategies being employed to address this coexistence.
