Fraudulent Research Falsely Attributed to Credible Researchers—An Emerging Challenge for Journals?
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The unauthorised publication of fraudulent articles under the names of legitimate researchers poses a significant threat to the integrity of scientific inquiry. An article was erroneously published with our names as authors, without our consent or knowledge, and included fabricated data. This paper underscores the emergence of fraudulent research falsely attributed to credible researchers as a novel form of academic misconduct. Ensuring the credibility of scientific research necessitates robust collaboration among academic institutions, publishers, and researchers.
