Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: This study examines how Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU) affects the mental health of children and adolescents. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and PRISMA methodology, 33 studies published between 2020-2024 were analyzed. Findings confirm that IU significantly influences mental development, increasing worry and emotional distress. The study highlights IU as a key factor in anxiety and other psychological issues, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions. Understanding IU in child and adolescent development is crucial for effective mental health assessment and treatment. The study suggests implementing therapeutic strategies to help young individuals manage uncertainty adaptively, ultimately improving their overall well-being.
