Abstract: The article provides a justification for the heuristic possibilities of applying the concept of social well-being in the study of young service sector workers. The author's approaches to the description of the relationship between subjective and objective factors of social well-being of the new generation of Russians are presented. The novelty of the project lies in the formulation of the problem of studying the social well-being of young people employed in the service sector of the economy, which is practically not represented in the Russian sociological discourse. Within the framework of the stated issues, the analysis of the concept of social well-being, its comparison with the foreign tradition, as well as with the specifics of research on these issues in relation to youth, is carried out. The author's indicators for measuring the social well-being of young people employed in the service sector of the economy are proposed. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the methodological role of the concept of social well-being in the study of the dynamics of collective consciousness.
