Abstract: The research malpractice of predatory publishing (PP) has been prevalent for over a decade. Research scholars in healthcare, young or veteran, fall prey to the shady deeds of illegitimate publishers, thereby creating a dump ground of academic dissemination. This communication serves as an educational guide on PP in the scientific world and simultaneously outlines 40 characteristics of fraudulent publishers. The list can also serve as a tool for academicians to impart knowledge on PP to healthcare students.
