Design and synthesis of multi-metal oxide (ZnO-NiO) nanocomposite in polymer (PPS) matrix by solid-state technique and their effect on antimicrobial activity
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: A new and unique approach was revealed for the fabrication of binary metal-oxide ZnO-NiO nanocomposite by solid-state in-situ generation method. The thermoplastic, engineering PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) was used as the polymer grid. The accomplished product was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, FESEM, FTIR, and antimicrobial activity. The XRD pattern strongly supported the development of nanocomposite with ZnO (hexagonal) and NiO (cubic) structure. The FESM displayed the distribution of metal oxide nanocomposite in PPS host template with a globular morphological appearance. The zinc oxide and nickel oxide nanocomposite induced as an antimicrobial property.
