Abstract: Rosa canina L., another name rose hip, is of great interest in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries.The wild rose fruit is a valuable ingredient in food and medicine due to the presence of bioactive compounds that are beneficial for human health.Carotenoids are natural organic compounds that are extremely important for the human body and are found in rose hips.The red pigment (lycopene) belongs to the group of carotenoids and has a strong antioxidant effect.The lycopene molecule consists of isoprene units, eleven conjugated double bonds and two non-conjugated double bonds.In this paper, the research is based on isolating of lycopene from the fruit of rose hips.Isolation….
