Abstract: Livestock farming in the Amazon foothills is characterized by traditional management, where large areas of forest are converted into pastures for animal feed, giving rise to livestock farms with low productive and reproductive parameters due to poor nutrition, in addition to generating environmental effects due to the lack of knowledge that ranchers have about the benefits provided by natural resources, in this sense it is important to opt for management strategies on the different tree species with forage potential as an alternative to recover production systems, for this reason for the development of this work it was carried out through a systematic search of related scientific articles, in addition for a better understanding a table was made with information compiled about the nutritional quality of the different species with forage potential in tropical conditions in order to analyze which species with forage potential can be implemented in the bovine production systems of Caquetá.
