Abstract: The internet is an incredibly powerful tool that has transformed the way we communicate and is now an essential component of modern education. Recently, a research study was conducted to investigate the impact of internet usage on academic performance among students in the IM/LIS field. The study revealed that while participants used the internet for a variety of purposes, such as email, social networking, chatting, and leisure activities, they also faced significant obstacles, such as cybercrime and slow internet speeds. Despite these challenges, the study's results provide valuable insights into potential areas for improvement. By acknowledging the barriers and difficulties that students encounter when using the internet, educators and policymakers can act to enhance internet skills and increase overall accessibility. Together, we can strive to create a more secure and efficient online environment that empowers students to excel in their academic pursuits.
