A Way Forward for DME to Support RNP

Abstract: Current geopolitical events have dramatically changed the value of satellite navigation for civil aviation. While it continues to be a valuable asset, delivering crucial services to aircraft world wide at no cost to the operator; it is also under attack from non-aviation actors. This development emphasizes the need for a terrestrial complement to satellite navigation, one that can deliver a comparable level of performance.
