Technological processes of stone sawing: analysis of energy efficiency and production costs

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The article examines the energy and economic efficiency of natural stone sawing technologies, specifically disk and wire saw machines. The relevance of the topic is driven by the increasing costs of energy resources and the need to enhance the competitiveness of stone processing enterprises in the modern economy. The study provides a comparative analysis of energy consumption, product cost, and production efficiency for different stone processing technologies. The research revealed that wire saw machines are more energy-efficient for processing large stone blocks, reducing energy consumption by up to 30 % compared to disk saw machines. At the same time, disk saw machines remain competitive for processing smaller blocks due to their lower tool costs and stable energy consumption. The article also examines the impact of stone block sizes on energy consumption and production efficiency. Based on the research results, recommendations are proposed to optimize the choice of sawing technologies to improve productivity and reduce production costs. The proposed recommendations can be beneficial for stone processing enterprises aiming to reduce product costs and enhance their competitiveness in the market.
