Abstract: This study takes the precision polishing process of small-diameter zirconia ceramic hip balls as the research object and focuses on exploring the mechanism of the abrasive particle movement trajectory on the surface quality. By establishing the three-dimensional motion trajectory model of the abrasive grains and the analytical model of the velocity field, based on the MATLAB numerical simulation platform, the influence laws of key parameters such as the initial position of the abrasive tool, the radius of the abrasive tool, the rotational speed ratio and the swing speed on the distribution characteristics of the abrasive grains were systematically analyzed, and the quantitative mapping relationship between the motion characteristic parameters of the abrasive grains and the surface roughness was constructed. On this basis, a surface quality control method based on multi-parameter collaborative optimization was proposed. The experimental verification results show that the polishing process parameters and system structure parameters significantly regulate the uniformity of material removal by influencing the spatial distribution characteristics of the abrasive particle movement trajectory. By optimizing the combination of parameters, the surface quality of spherical workpieces can be significantly improved.
