Sensitivity analysis of the kinematic parameters during the industrial polishing process of ceramic floor tiles
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This work is focused on the industrial polishing process of ceramic floor tiles. The main goal is to estimate the impact of small deviations between nominal and actual values of three operational parameters on the glossiness of polished surfaces. These operating parameters are the most important kinematic variables that can be selected in industrial systems to control the movement of the grinding tools. Computational simulations were used to determine the abrasive trajectories so that the polishing uniformity could be quantified. Based on the simulated values the sensitivity of the polishing quality against kinematic deviations was quantitatively obtained. Such results are intended to support the daily tasks of operators as well as further research on process optimization.
