Abstract: 2025 is BDJ Open's 10 th anniversary year. Originally edited by Stephen Hancocks OBE, Jonathan Lewney became Editor in 2017. Jonathan completed a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in medicinal chemistry and medical physics, while working as long-haul cabin crew. This helped him gain entry to a graduate-entry dentistry programme and he gained his BDS in 2012. Following various clinical roles, Jonathan then completed a Master of Public Health and speciality training in Dental Public Health in North East England and worked in local, regional and national public health roles. He now works as a freelance Public Health Consultant in addition to his role as Editor of BDJ Open .
