Counter-intuitive photo-modulation of the aqueous phase behavior of azo dye-functionalized polyacrylamides

Abstract: The LCST transition of azobenzene-functionalized polymers can be modulated by the photo-induced E -to- Z isomerization of the azodye. Yet, the transition temperature may be not only increased, but also decreased, despite the Z -isomer being more polar.
