Digitally Empowered Ideological and Political Education in Colleges in the New Era: Opportunities, Challenges and Countermeasures

Abstract: 数字技术的迅猛发展助推高校思想政治教育向数字化转型。本研究探讨了新时代高校“数字思政”的机遇与挑战，并提出应对策略。数字技术赋能下，高校思政教育呈现泛在化、精准化与高效化特征。然而，数字技术亦加剧了思政教育主体话语权弱化、人文价值流失、内容碎片化与伦理风险等挑战。为应对挑战，需从三方面着力：提升教育主体数字化能力与素养，强化实践应用；构建全方位数字思政教育体系，平衡技术赋能与人文关怀；完善数据安全规范与监督机制，保障学生隐私权益。研究表明，数字思政的健康发展需兼顾技术创新与价值引领，在规避风险中实现高校思政教育的提质增效。The rapid development of digital technology has promoted the digital transformation of ideological and political education in colleges. This study examines the practices and risks of digitally empowered ideological and political education in colleges, as well as proposes the countermeasures. Empowered by digital technologies, ideological and political education in colleges show three key features: ubiquity, precision, and efficiency. However, digital technologies also bring severe challenges, including educators’ diminished authority due to decentralized information flow, weakened humanistic engagement from virtual interactions, fragmented contents, and ethical risks. In order to counter the challenges, three strategies should be taken: enhancing the digital ability and literacy of educators, and strengthening the practical application; constructing a comprehensive digital ideological and political education system which can balance technology empowerment and humanistic care; improving the data security norms and supervision mechanism to protect the privacy rights and interests of student. The research highlights that the sound development of digitally empowered ideological and political education in colleges is based on the integrity of technological innovation and value-oriented guidance, and the quality improvement could be realized by avoiding the risks.
