Abstract: Through questionnaires and case interviews, we investigated the current situation of cross-cultural adaptation of expatriates in Shaoxing, analyzed the factors affecting their cross-cultural adaptation in three dimensions: linguistic adaptation, psychological adaptation, and socio-cultural adaptation, and put forward the following suggestions: enhancing language support, improving accommodation, providing vocational guidance, and encouraging community participation to improve the cross-cultural communication skills of expatriates, with a view to providing constructive suggestions for the development of community-based language services.
