Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Hakim Sanā'ī Ghaznavi is the father of Persian mystical poetry, who for the first time blended the concepts and sentiments of mysticism with folk culture and allegorical tales, creating didactic mystical compositions. He is the originator of the Qalandari style and the ecstatic Sufi manner in Persian poetry, through which he eloquently conveyed most of the Sufi teachings, drawing inspiration from the pioneers of Islamic mysticism, and influencing later generations in the reproduction of mystical thoughts. Therefore, this research aims to examine and analyze the Intertextuality relationships of mystical concepts in Sanai's poems with both predecessors and andThe late ones. It seeks to explore the reflected mystical sentiments in the poems of Sanā'ī Ghaznavi through a descriptive-analytical method based on Julia Kristeva's theory of Intertextuality. The findings of this study indicate that the mystical content of Sanā'ī's poems resonates with the thoughts and ideas of mystical figures such as Abū Ḥāmid Muḥammad Al-Ghazali, Ayn al-Quzat Hamadani, Rashid al-Din MeybodI, Ali Hujwiri, Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Balkhi, Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī, and Mahmoud Shabestari in terms of Intertextuality relationships concerning concepts such as patience, gratitude, purity, prayer, adherence to religious laws, true and metaphorical love, poverty and asceticism, acquisition of knowledge, and the virtues of religious teachings.
