Abstract: The elateroid species, Eurypogon niger (Melsheimer) (Coleoptera: Artematopodidae), is recorded for the first time from Illinois. This brings to 10 the number of U.S. states (plus the District of Columbia) from which the species has been reported. Its occurrence has also been noted in Canada.
