Abstract: It is estimated that 85% of adolescents suffer from one form or another of acne vulgaris during puberty [1]. This ailment has many factors linked to it, from hormonal changes to lifestyle choices such as diet and psychological stress, but the microbiological component cannot be ignored as it is the root of the infection [1]. As taught in the early years of medical school, microbiology retains its importance and has many practical uses.
