Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
This study examined the mediating role of general self-efficacy (GSE) between personality traits and social anxiety using IAS, EPQ-RSC and GSES. Key findings: (1) The psychoticism dimension of personality traits shows significant gender differences (male is higher than female), while extraversion, neuroticism, dissimulation show no significant gender differences; (2) There are significant correlations among the dimensions of personality traits: psychoticism is positively correlated with neuroticism and negatively correlated dissimulation; neuroticism has a significant positive predictive effect on social anxiety; (3) General self-efficacy shows a masking effect in the influence of psychotic and extraversion on social anxiety.
