Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: Foreign language teaching by non-native teachers often faces challenges such as lack of fluency and limited vocabulary. This study aims to evaluate the impact of using T. Cuekarte, an instructional aid in the form of flashcards equipped with Quick Response (QR) codes. The study involved twelve non-native teachers who teach German and Spanish in several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Peninsular Malaysia. The researcher employed the Behaviorism Theory approach, emphasizing the importance of repetition and positive reinforcement. The respondents used T. Cuekarte for three months and provided feedback on the effectiveness of this tool. Through the repetition of these phrases, respondents were able to achieve the expected learning outcomes. The results also indicate that T. Cuekarte not only increased teachers' confidence in giving instructions but also helped reduce their reliance on native language translation and improved communication fluency. All respondents reported improvements in teaching fluency and clarity in delivering instructions. These findings suggest that T. Cuekarte has the potential to be widely adopted in the context of foreign language teaching. This study further recommends that T. Cuekarte be used not only for German and Spanish but also for other languages, given its simple and cost-effective design.
