Abstract: This paper addresses idiomatization from the perspective of French-Spanish general translation. Firstly, its aim is to show in which way idiomatization appears in the Spanish version of the video game Waven. To do so, thirty French-Spanish contrastive categories based on a reference bibliography and the very practice of translation and editing are studied. The working hypothesis confirmed by this corpus analysis is that Waven makes possible to illustrate the collected contrastive categories. This research shows the idiomatic quality of the selected extracts and, at the same time, provides a useful collection of examples for students of French-Spanish general translation.
