Abstract: Currently enterprises tend to approach Cyber-Security using a prevent/mitigate approach. However, when an attack happens it is of extreme importance to do extensive digital forensic investigation. This investigation will allow to know exactly, where, how and what went wrong. Moreover, digital forensics face difficult challenges such as, the evolution of technology (Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), etc.) and the ingenuity of attackers that always encounter new ideas to achieve their objectives. Thus, this work’s main goal is to do a systematic literature review of publicly available and indexed papers on the digital forensics field with special focus on trending technology areas.
