Abstract: This article addresses the problem of accidents related to the handling of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on ships, which are essential for maritime operations but pose significant risks to personnel safety and operability. Through a systematic bibliographic review of specialized sources, the main causes are identified as deficient technical training and lack of adequate continuous training of operating personnel. The results highlight that these accidents generate critical consequences, such as operational paralysis affecting port logistics and severe injuries, including amputations and serious internal damage. The psychological impact on the crew and the economic and legal repercussions for shipping companies are also highlighted. It concludes that to mitigate these risks it is essential to implement specialized training programs, improve safety protocols and foster an organizational culture focused on prevention. The study provides a comprehensive framework for strengthening maritime safety and technical risk management on board.
